I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of music...not snobbish-like as someone who sniffs wine and expels the remains in an elegant spitton...but rather a hearty appreciation for the art of raw acoustic smoothness. This album is sheer acoustic perfection...laden with ample soul and stirring lyrics.
Well done, Mr. Oldham....best yet.

Another stroke of utter genius from Will Oldham. I've never heard a bad piece of music by this guy and here's another 10 songs to add to that list. If this is your first BPB album, welcome to the aural heaven.

there are some insanely beautiful moments on this record, some i've never heard in a BPB release. 'someone coming through' is a great example, buy this album.

what i love about this album, and every BPB album, is that i know i'll be listening to it the rest of my life. the man can't write a song i don't like, and this entire album is insanely beautiful.

Will Oldham is a true wonder of nature. His capacity for putting out quality music is unbelievable. Additionally the sheer quantity is nearly shocking. I don't know of any other artist that produces 1/4 of what he puts out. On a first listen, I think this may be his best since Lay Down in the Light - although Beware has been creepingly finding its way into my thoughts more and more recently. This record is pretty representative of Bonnie "Prince" Billy. Love it, love it, love it... Keep 'em coming Will and I'll keep on buying them.
