I love horror scores but have been a little bored by them lately - seems everyone is either ripping off Charlie Clouser (Saw films) or using the typical bombastic horn rips and non-melodic walls of screeching strings. This score brings to mind the classic noir macabre vibe of Bernard Hermann, yet it's completely unique, totally "today" in feeling, and plays perfectly to the polished & modern style of the film. Plus the songs are great- written for the film as part of the score, AND stand alone as hit songs. This guy is an amazing songwriter/producer, not a film composer hacking some songs together (or vice-versa!) This is definitely a composer to watch!

Lucian Piane has created a healthy mix of spooky and energetic music for this score, raising the film beyond the usual "run of the mill" chicks in distress to something much more substantial. There is also a sly sense of humor (even in the track titles) that match the tone of the film. Overall, worth the $10 bucks for the album.

Perhaps the most spectacular CD I've ever heard. I am moving to a mountain top in India to contemplate the awesomeness of Lucian Piane.

This is a fantastic horror score overall but I've never heard anything like tracks 1, 2 and 3—they combine pop songs with the orchestral theme from key sequences in the movie. Rad.
