I know this isn't considered Jimi's best album, but this is my favorite Jimi record. The songs here have more developed riffs than AYE?. And while most rock critics far more enjoyed the bloated proto-progressive noodling of EL, I didn't. I much prefer the more conventional song structures presented here. This album finds Jimi at the peak of his pop sensibilities. "Wait Until Tomorrow" has to be most accessible song he's written. This album contains the majority of my favorite Hendrix songs: Spanish Castle Magic, Little Wing, Castles Made of Sand, the title track and my favorite Hendrix song of all time (One Rainy Wish). I find "One Rainy Wish" particularly interesting for utilizing the soft-loud dynamic decades before The Pixies and Nirvana popularized it. Such a shame Jimi barely incorporated this album into his live sets. If I remember correctly, only SCM and LW made it into his concert performances. I would have loved to hear ORW or the mind-bending BAL solo on-stage.
- The most beautiful album I have ever heard

This album i can describe with only one word: beautiful. Whenever I listen to Little Wing, I cry from how it is the most beautiful song in the world. Castles made of sand has some of the best guitar chemistry I have ever heard. EXP has also amazing guitar chemistry. Bold As Love, the original is better than John Mayer's version because it is absolutely amazing. No on will ever be able to create an album as great as Axis: Bold As Love by The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Axis: Bold as Love, the title track from the album of the same name is a piece almost unequaled in the annals of rock and roll. No one, and I mean NO ONE, could rip up his axe quite like Hendrix. That last solo at the end is like he is, in death, stepping into his eternal role as guitarist to Zeus himself. To be sure the other songs on the album are good also (I particularly am mesmerized by "One Rainy Wish" but I've been listening to Axis now since 1977 and it still blows me away. An all time classic. NOT to be missed.

There are no words...sit down...listen...preferably with headphones...from first song to last...prepared to be amazed.
- My love is bold for this Axis of an album

Because this is one of Jimi's greatest along with Are You Experienced? and his Electric Ladyland album (plus, some unreleased stuff right after his death)
There's no need to sum this album up again because it already has been by the other reviews, but it is a highly recommended album for anyone who likes Blues and Rock music. Jimi Hendrix lives on through these albums still, so let's keep it that way so youngsters can enjoy this instead of bands that can't seem to keep music in place these days.
Love ya Jimi, and thanks for the music!
- Genius!

The album-only bonus footage video alone is worth $9.99. Producer Chas Chandler and legendary recording engineer Eddie Kramer? I died and went to rock heaven. I'd read about the "underwater" phasing effect on the title track. To hear Eddie Kramer talk about it himself (and stories behind other tracks on the album) - amazing. Of course interviews with Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell ain't too shabby either! The album - a genius collection of tracks without equal.
- 5 stars obviously

It's Jimi Hendrix... THE greatest guitarist this world has known. I've listened to all of his studio albums over and over again and they're all amazing 10++ star albums, but this one really stands out as my favorite. This is Jimis masterpiece album, if you had to pick one. But don't pick one, buy them all. You'll be glad you did. This is real music.
