  • Dave Clark Has No Respect for His Fans or His Music

The mono reissues on itunes are compressed and weak compared to the original vinyl releases. Clark stupidly waited too long for anyone to be interested in a CD release of his catalogue (Rhino offered him a deal years ago), now his fan base is dying off, and this is what we get - compressed, inferior versions, re-invented contents, and even tracks previously available in wonderful stereo as mediocre mono mixes. In disgust, I have been seeking out mint copies of the olld vinyl catalogue, which still sounds as amazing as they did nearly fifty years ago. For those who have to settle, these are better than nothing, but I guess Clark's original fan base will all be dead before all this wonderful music is treated with the love it deserves. Dave Clark, stop using that ridiculous hair dye, trim those bushes you call eyebrows, and do the right thing!

Thanks for releasing what can be said as THE Greatest DC 5 album ever! This album was used in my teaching of the DC 5 when they were Finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008! My students identified and related To the music and even drummed to their music! It was a pleasure to see my students drumming to dave' rift to "Bits and Pieces"! It was voted as their favorite DC 5 song, with "Because" as their second fave! You made me smile because the PBS special brought back precious memories of my childhood!

The album that started the DC5 off in America.Time is a lost masterpiece. Many great songs. The first album I ever bought at Christmas of 64 when our family finally bought a stereo. May I say thank you to Dave Clark for making all these recordings available. I purchased many of the albums in the 60s. Forgot how many gems there were besides the hits. Still have all those DC5 albums in the basement. It will be a joy to listen to them in pristine audio. Now Im off to download the wonderful Weekend in London & who knows what else. Dave Clark, I LOVE YOU!!

People complain way too much. I'm for one very glad for the DC5's music. If you take a little time to look at the whole list of DC5's songs, you might just find what you're lookig for. Also, songs that aren't here Dave might not have the rights to. Duh!!

Although I am glad that Dave finally released most of The Dave Clark Five catalogue after more than forty-five years, I agree with other reviewers that the integrity and continuity of the original album is deeply affected by the omission of "No Time To Lose" and "She's All Mine." These two songs, supposedly written by Ron Ryan, have now been replaced by "3406" and "Who Do You Think You Are Talking To," which were released much later and never on the original album. (By the way, Ron Ryan was not a band mate. His brother, Mick Ryan, was an original member of The Dave Clark Five Quintet, as they were known prior to 1962). This release is more of a piece-meal compilation, or, better yet, "bits and pieces" of the original. This album is probably not worth buying since "Glad All Over," "Do You Love Me" and "Bits and Pieces" are on the "... The Hits" and "The History..." I would recommend buying some of the other songs, such as "All of the Time" and "I Know You," individually, unless you happen to like all of the other songs.

Most original tunes but 34-06 is a 1969 flip side and Who Do You Think You Are Talking To is a Dave Clark & Friends cut from like 1970-sorta weird for sure since the material on this LP was recorded in 63 for a 64 release

Yes, Dave did change the tracks on both the albums GOA and Return, but I noticed that GOA and the first UK album release are now closer to being identical that they were before. I don't care, I'm glad to have the albums on CD without having to do it myself and if the two have been merged, so what.
  • Not the original track listing... Dave Clark, stop messing with history!

I refuse to buy this album as, in its iTunes incarnation, three of its original tracks have been replaced by other songs... that weren't even recorded in the same year! The Internet rumor is that these three songs were written by Dave Clark bandmate Ron Ryan, who famously sued Clark over songwriting royalties, and that this is why the original songs were omitted -- Clark doesn't want Ryan to get any money off the album! Whatever the case, I will not give my money to a botched, "revisionist history" reissue such as this. Maybe if few people buy it, it will teach Dave Clark a lesson.
