  • It's Funny

It's funny how so many are willing to skip this album because it doesn't have the song Funny because supposedly Ron Ryan wrote it. If you really want the original album, its available as a download from Amazon, but when you get it, you'll see it was credited to Dave Clark AND Denny Peyton. Denny has never been accused of cheating Ron Ryan so I suspect you have some misguided loyalty. Skip it if you must, but you're skipping an incredible album. The last for a long time that wasn't half "filler". I was a big DC5 fan for their duration and got all their original vinyl albums and am very familiar with the music. Even saw them at Shady Grove outside Washington DC in I believe 1966. None of their albums compare with their live performances, but they're all we have now to remember them with, and this is a great one.
  • Maybe there's more to the story!

I admit I know little about the DC5, but I do know there may be more to this story. It's quite possible Ryan won't allow Clark to put his songs on the albums? What is Dave to do? Maybe it took this long to see the light of day again because Dave had to wait for legal reasons before changing the track listing? It could be for spite, but I'd say it could also be the other way around. We should gather facts first. Either way it's nice to see something more than greatest hits for a change !

If you think I'm NOT going to buy this because of the losers that say so, you're goofy. What do I care that the songs are different? What a bunch of big time cry babies. WAH WAH Don't buy this album. Good, don't buy it then. The rest of us will enjoy it without yous.

Again, another album not as originally released. And again, "Glad" that at least some of the original songs were released but NOT "Glad All Over!" I only purchased the songs that I liked on this album, including "I Need You I Love You," "I Love You No More," "Forever and a Day" and "Can I Trust You." I already have "Can't You See That She's Mine" on "The History of the Dave Clark Five."
  • Please release the original!

As has been pointed out with this album and others,Dave has not chosen to release the album as originally constituted. I wish he'd straighten out whatever problem has caused him to do it this way, and re-release these. The music is great, of course, but the first few albums should be returned to their proper place in DC5 history.

Like the other early albums, Dave Clark is trying to pull a fast one and deny an old band mate his deserved song writing royalties by replacing important original songs from these albums. Don't buy these and demand he release the albums as they originaly came out
  • RETURN! To The Original Albums

Glad that the DC5's catalog is coming to iTunes but they should do it properly instead of this "lose some cuts, gain some other cuts" trend that we find on the group's first two downloadable albums. The way to reissue albums is to include all the original songs and then add bonus tracks to keep things interesting. The Dave Clark Five have a consistently strong catalog of material. Hope to see it released properly in the near future.
  • Not the original track listing... utter nonsense

I refuse to buy this album as it does not contain the original tracklisting. Dave Clark replaced the song "Funny" with a song called "I Miss You," which was a B-side released two years after this album. Where is "Funny"? Rumor on the net is that his bandmate Ron Ryan wrote the song, and the two had a bitter dispute over songwriting credits years ago and haven't spoken in a long time, and that that's the reason Clark omitted the song. Rather petty, if true. At any rate, I won't buy the album unless it's returned to the original track listing.

Back in the 60's, I bought this album just for the song "Can't You See That She's Mine". I already had "Glad All Over" and expected the same type of songs throughout the album. This album is very different from "Glad All Over". It features two ballads - "Can I Trust You" and "Forever and a Day" and both instrumentals are slow (was never crazy about "Rumble" though). The original album had only 10 songs on it; this features an extra song - "Thinking Of You Baby". Although on the "You Got What It Takes" album, this song does go back to the summer of 1964, where I first heard it on the radio. On the other hand, "Funny" has been replaced with "I Miss You", the flip side of "At the Scene". This song was never included on a U.S. DC5 album, but is found on "History of, Vol 2." It features a rare Denny Payton vocal. I've loved the music of the Dave Clark Five since it first came out, so I have to give it 5 stars.
