Acid bath was a rare gem coming out of the south Louisiana area. They created a sound all their own mixing southern sludge with psychedelic death. Between Dax Riggs singing like a haunted Jim Morrison, and Sammy Duet filling in the back ground vocals with his signature screams acid bath left nothing to the imagination. Audie Pitre was truly a creative genius on the bass similar to the likes of geezer Butler of Black Sabbath. The drums were pummeling and nonstop as Jimmy Kyle was truly the perfect drummer for the psychedelic death machine also known as acid bath. If you haven’t already picked up the CD do yourself a favor and get it now. “ where kitchen knives conspire, and razor blades make bloodless love”. Be sure to check out the members' new bands, GoatWhore, Dax Riggs and SHRÜM can all be found on ITUNES

This is such a good album, if you're a metalhead and you haven't heard it yet, I highly recommend it. Acid Bath has a very unique sound, unlike any I've ever heard. The drums and guitar are unpredictable, and a lot of the songs feature sudden tempo changes, that just make it sound completely different and frankly, really cool. Definitely deserves more recognition.

Anyone who likes any kind of heavier music will love Acid Bath. Dax Riggs has one of the best voices I have ever heard, and I hope this band can get the recognition it deserves! Please buy!

I picked this album up in 1995 after a buddy was playing it in his car. I have since listened to it almost everyday for over two decades. IMO it is an absolute timeless masterpiece, that defies any words than can be written here for sure. Sammy Duet is one of my favorite guitarist and I listen to his other bands as well (Goatwhore, crowbar, Ritual killer). Dax has gone on to do other great things and the only Agents of oblivion album they produced is on my all time greatest lists as well. Dax is one of the greatest underrated singer/songwriters and will never get the praise he deserves. With the passing of their bassist being killed by a drunk driver, causing the subsequent breakup, listening to this band is like chasing a euphoria that you will never attain again. There will never be another album or band like this in my lifetime again I fear. On a side note, the bassist was in another band called Shrum. Features two bassist and is excellent.

The writing on this album can be incredibly poetic or deep such as in Scream of the Butterfly or Bones of Baby Dolls, and the instrumentation does an incredible job of conveying the emotions to match the meanings of the songs. It's an amazing piece of art and really shows that metal isn't just a bunch of guys screaming about Satan and murder. I highly recommend buying this album. It's worth it's weight in diamonds.

I was turned in to Acid Bath by a friend in 1998. Wow. I have listened to every song thousands of times and 18 years later they are still all amazing. One of, if not the, best metal bands ever.

This band was pure unadulterated talent. You can always tell a superb band when there is not a bad song on both albums! Such a loss we were deprived more Acid Bath albums. Dax and Sammy's other projects are worth a listen too!!
