  • what does Dave Clark have against true stereo

I have been waiting for longer than I can remember for The Dave Clark Five's music to be released in true stereo, as it was recorded. I guess I might as well give up. My favorite band of the 60s has let me down again.
  • This should have been a great collection....

I love the DC5 and own most of their albums and singles. This should have been a great collection of music but it falls far short of what it should have been. I enjoy previously unreleased material, but why would Dave Clark release it when he hasn't released 95% of the originally released material. Clark has clearly mishandled this fabulous catalog from the beginning by hanging on to it so long that most people have no idea who the Dave Clark 5 are anymore. Every other British Invasion group, big or small, made their music available on CD or mp3s a long time ago. Most have also been remixed. Many other Brit groups have appeared on British Invasion collections or on movie soundtracks but nothing from the DC5, one of the most popular of those groups. They were up there with the Stones, Kinks, Yardbirds, the Searchers, Herman's Hermits and many others. Hopefully, he will make the rest of it available soon. I'll buy it and stop listening to bootlegs. If he doesn't do it soon, no one will know they ever existed. What a shame that would be.... My first big date was going to the DC5 in Charlotte, NC.

Even though there is no orchestration on Darling I Love You and a strange double tracked vocal on I'll Do The Best I Can, this is great for DC5 fans1 The clarity of Lenny's vocals on the 1968 Everbody Knows is incredible!. There are some glaring omissions here like Julia, On Broadway, Bernedette and the like but nice to hear these again. When was that Love Me Tender done? Sounds like maybe 10 yrs ago?

I grew up with the DC5 & have always loved Mike Smith's booming voice. All of the songs are great but I really love Mike's voice on Love Me Tender. Such a lovely song. A couple of the songs are a bit different than on the original albums but all are wonderful. Hope Dave Clark will release more of their hits. Fantastic cd!
  • Love Me Tender... Why was this unreleased all these decades

These ballads are great... The DC5 are too good to be burried for all these years. More people should be able to enjoy all the wonderful tracks that have been unavailable on the legit market for the better part of forty years... or at least as long as vinyl has been out of the picture. These ballads are well worth the time and expense, even if they do not represent all the ballads that many DC5 fans think of as being worthy of inclusion. Dave Clark has selected some lesser known and appreciated tracks for this compilation effort... and the inclusion of the never before released 'Love Me Tender' is the hidden gem that should motivate sales. Mike Smith covers Elvis in a wonderful homage, one worthy of being played often across the World... but my guess is that it will not be heard much at all, which to me is a crime.

To me the DC5 were the best of the British Invasion and Because was the best ballad to come out of that era, but songs like "Darling, I love You, Bring It on Home To Me, Think of Me, 34-06, If You Gotta Little Love to Give and I'll Do the Best I Can,and "Worried Times" are by no means and aren't even close to the best ballads that the band produced.

The remastering has made the DC5's legendary songs sound fresh and new again! This is a worthwhile addition to anyone's Rock N' Roll music collection. The songs may be familiar but the audio remastering has given them a new sound. Some are very different from the original releases. I've listened to the downloaded album over and over again. It feels like 1964. The DC5 still rock!! Thanks Dave Clark!! I can't wait for the rest of the remastered albums!!!
