A group that definitely knows what they want out of their music. Very interesting and individualistic sound...a nice change of pace from the mainstream music often showcased on the radio today. Somewhat similar to early White Stripes to me

I've neen waiting to give this album a thorough listen before taking the time to give it a review. It wasn't hard to keep replaying it in my car or on my ipod. This band is the best at playing all the genres I like and blending together. The album is spread out with funk, rock, hip hop, indie, jazz and more. Discovering Dinosaurs sounded really familiar at first, but after a while, I realized that Downtown Harvest is really in control of their own sound. Balboa is definitely my favorite track. The organ and vocals are so good. I hope I get to see them live at some point. I hear their concerts are awesome.

Downtown Harvest is a generious blend of genres, that displays range and originality. Throughout the album you are brought into spaces of experimental pop, brit punk, blues, funk, and classic rock. It is awesome...really awesome.
"Balboa" brings to mind a Count playing on an Organ, next to a glass of bourbon, neat, and P. Funk's Mothership Connection lying next to the record player.
"Shimmy" transports me into my 1955 sky blue Cadillac coasting down Route 1. With a healthy injection of punk rock, that pays homage to the Ramones, I am a California Hipster, hear me roar.
Have you ever had a woman who drove you nuts? Can't live with her, can't live without her. Well, "Anita Leave" embodies this to a T.
"No One at the Party" is an anthem that rebels against awkwardness and provides comfort in unity.

Everyone has those CD's with a hit or two on them and when the other songs pop up on your ipod, you hit the skip button. I couldn't skip a single song on this album. Not only that, but when Balboa and Shimmy come on I have to turn it up as loud as I can. I own all three of their albums and they keep getting better and better.
