Reviews

  • One of the most moving songs...

Guadalupe is filled with imagery, emotion, and sheer beauty. It's done subtly and with grace, both in the writing and singing. Can't praise this lovely song enough. The rest of the album is fine, but Guadalupe is the gem.
  • Gretchen with a bit of Tex-mex feel

This disc wanders a bit from her prior releases, which were more mellow. Many of the songs on this disc feature accordion prominently in a Tejano/Tex-mex style. She pairs with Tom Russell on many songs. Tom is himself a great songwriter, though his songs feature Texas border town love and tragedy. Gretchen's voice is as sweet and haunting as ever.

Amazing songs, great singers. Loved it first time and hear more great stuff every time I listen again.
