- Long Live the New Rubbish (not)!

I was desperately hoping to find the original versions (the Long Live the New Flesh album) of the Flesh for Lulu songs that I had grown up with, but no such luck. Instead I get this re-recorded rubbish.
Is nothing sacred?!

So what if "I Go Crazy" wasn't included?
This release captures much of the raw punk energy of their pre-"Long Live the New Flesh" material - it sounds like they recorded it in one take in my garage. While the songs on "Long Live the New Flesh" was a classic, it's mix was awful, with no bottom end whatsoever. "Plastic Fantastic" was also excellent, but it was too slick and clean, spit-polished to a gleaming sheen.
Like a bunch of my favorite 80's bands Flesh for Lulu put out a bunch of excellent songs then imploded. When I saw this release and realized it wsn't just a compilation but re-recorded material I jumped at it.
So, is it perfect? No. But unless it's a Christmas album any Flesh release is worth buying. Now, how about iTunes gets the rest of Flesh for Lulu's catalog out for download??
- not sure what this is

i wasn't aware of these newly recorded versions of these songs. but i keep seeing that people are looking for "long live the new flesh". it was rereleased in 2003 with 4 bonus tracks. just do a little research and you can find it. it is frustrating when itunes gets some of a band's albums but not all. especially when it's not even the original albums that fans want. and flesh for lulu have loads of good songs, not just "i go crazy"
- are you kidding me?

postcards from hell more like it, i came looking for the original version of Postcards From Paradise and i get this crap? it sounds nothing like their original that i loved. This is like the Rolling Stones doing all new version of their hits, what's the point in that?

So often we see this happen. A band or artist are separated, from their master recordings, by contractual language. Then the band or atist re-records the material; and it only serves to make fans pine, for the original versions. It appears as though "Long Live the New Flesh" is out of print; but I can't confirm that. What I can say for sure is that these FfL re-recordings, while they were produced with some energy, they aren't quite as good as the original versions. This is not one of those typical, angry demands that iTunes "get it right" and "stop ripping us off". It would just be cool if they could somehow offer the original version, of "Long Live the New Flesh" as well. How 'bout it iTunes? Any chance of that happening?
- Where is I Go Crazy

How do you have a Best of without the biggest song? I Go Crazy defined this band. Right now iTunes is forcing people who want the song to buy a soundtrack to some 80s B Movie (I refuse to name it). This is total bull - give us our song iTunes!

This is my generation! This generation doesn't have music like this. Not even close. Glad I walked the beat through this Post-Punk drum. Thanks Flesh for raising me the proper way!
- Long Live the New Flesh, indeed!

It's been a long time since Flesh For Lulu released Postcards from Paradise. But back in the 80s, there wasn't a better post punk song. Now re-recorded, matched with a fantastic re-recording of the much under-rated Sleeping Dogs, the "Best of..." boasts two of the finest songs written for the John Hughes generation. In addition, a real treat is to find "Avenue" - a classic - from the hard to find, but absolutely wonderful album, Plastic Fantastic. Thanks Itunes, and thanks Flesh for Lulu for making this album available.
