Although SCIV was perhaps my least favorite Soul Calibur, it’s still Soul Calibur! This comes from the much improved PSP version of the title. Very good soundtrack, although not as crazy good as SCI and SCII.
Project Soul if you’re reading this:
Soul Calibur II was the best game in the series. SCVI is trying to go back in that direction, but it’s not all the way there yet. SCII was super fast, and super fluid. Very low start up and cool down frames. Any move could be buffered into any other move making strings that weren’t strings look flawless like a dance. The attacks themselves had a lot of both weapon motion and character motion. In SCVI it still feels like characters like Kilik are just standing there instead of moving along with their attacks. Please make SCVI (or SCVII) more like SCII. Lastly, the move lists were super long and glorious in SCII. There were so many mix-up’s, cancels, just frames, unlisted moves, SCGC’s, and SCUB’s that made the whole game much more of a mental challenge than a button input one.
Thank you.
