Bright Star (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

probably the most beautiful music and poetry I've heard. If Keats were around I like to imagine he would love this. Keats would be allll over this. It is romantic and melancholy.

When I saw this film, I was already a fan of Keats' poetry. This film made me even more interested in his life's work. I purchased this soundtrack, and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had included excerpts from his letters and his poems in the music. It was a wonderful buy, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Best songs on the album: La belle dame sans merci - not technically a song, but the most beautiful recitation of Keats's most famous poem I have heard Letters - quotes directly from the letters Keats wrote to Fanny Brawne Human Orchestra - Mozart's Serenade #10 in B Minor with voices Ode to a Nightingale - the music from the credits... Just astounding.

The minute I got home after seeing the film, I jumped on Itunes and got it. I wish there was more music, but what is there from the stunning score to the readings of poetry is so peaceful. It was raining when I stepped out of the film,and this music always makes me think of a soft rain and those ebautiful gray cloudy skies.

I have loved Keats but now I truly am in love. I love Bradshaw too. Also this is my favorite concerto by Mozart.

I finally saw this movie yesterday, 11.9.09, the movie was great, the acting was terrific, the cinematography is to die for and the music is deep, touching, sensitive, visual and heart warming. I was surprised to see that there are only 9 songs on here but they are all used in the movie. When the credits rolled and keats is reading his poem we all sat there mesmerized, I was literally speechless. This is a great soundtrack to a gorgeous movie and I will try to buy the cd and have it for my collection. What a movie and such sweet music that tugs at your heart and never lets go!

This is one of the more unusual film soundtracks I've come across, but it's perfect for the mood of the film. It uses the readings of Keats' poetry as music in and of itself, which is rather refreshing. The music is quiet and delicate, as are the readings/dialogue captures, and best listened to on a quiet sunny afternoon. Though the total runtime is just over 23 mins and is seemingly rather short compared to most soundtracks, it's a wonderful slice of the film. Lovely to listen to, and stands as its own, independent of the film, as a great album. Beautiful, ambient, heartfelt. Worth the 9 bucks. :-)

This is really good stuff, btw does anyone know the song from the trailor, the one near the end that doesnt seem to be on the soundtrack.

This is a beautifully orchestrated soundtrack. The film it self was a stunning work of photography and artistic talent by both the male and female leads, but the music was very evocative. I had goosebumps through out the film, and even more so listening to the soundtrack. Human Orchestra is definitely an appreciable nod to Mozart. And I just have to say, Ben Winshaw's reading of La Belle Dame Sans Merci brought tears to my eyes!

Although I expected more songs, all 9 of them (including the ones with spoken words) are melancholy but beautiful. Listen to the samples of "Human Orchestra" (a nod to Mozart), and "Yearning". I also suggest the movie soundtracks of "Brideshead Revisited" and "Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer", both also stars Ben Whishaw (the male lead of Bright Star.)
