Greg Brown is the best singer/Songwriter/And I stand by that 100%. This album has such a warm flow to it/each song is told beautifully through his well written lyrics. His best album, in my opinion/.

When my my passed away, I joined a bereavement support group; a member who liked music as much as I do gave me a copy of Further In. I found myself listening to "China" endlessly, not for the verses but because the chorus seemed to connect me with me wife: She was so far away, and yet a song linked us somehow. Don't get me wrong: The rest of Further In is just as good -- my favorite Greg Brown album. But I owe him a debt for "China," even if it worked on one person not exactly as intended.

This album was my first exposure to Greg Brown. He's definitely not the "millionare singing about nothing at all". If you like guitar and a deep voiced baird who tells a story, this is your guy. This is my favorite Greg Brown album, followed by "The Poet Game.

This song is so beautiful it almost makes me want to quit smoking herb. I love to get 'high' and listen to 'Not High!' How is that for Carma???

The best Greg Brown album (followed by Poet Game), and one of the best albums ever recorded. By anyone. The songs are that good. The production is that perfectly tuned to the songs. Brown can be a little self-indulgent, but on this album the stars aligned, and everything came together. This is an album that deserves to break out of the "folk" ghetto; it's brilliant music, and anyone who likes brilliant music of any kind should get a chance to hear it.

I have been a Greg Brown lover for years and I have heard many of his songs, owned many of his albums but Futher In is, in my opinion, the best album of his career. This album is folk at it's best, the melodies are beautiful, warm and relaxing, the lyrics are honest, real and heart wrenching and Greg's voice is like a warm bath, cozy and sexy. If you like folk, especially if you like Greg Brown, get this album. Futhermore, if you haven't and you get a chance, see Greg live, he is absolutely a master in his craft and can move an audience like no one can.

By far my favorite modern Folk Singer/Songwriter...For me this album lays testament to a sincere, clever folk craftmanship. If you're one that feels modern folk has become clichéd and derivative...give Greg Brown a listen...he's the real deal. His shows are captivating and I've enjoyed his following CD's as well. HEY BABY HEY!
