Mitch & Mickey are so awesome! I can't believe it's really them. The whole album is so great! Viva la Guest & The Players!

Everyone who is a fan of "A Mighty Wind" or anyone who has enjoyed Christopher Guest's films should have this album. To paraphrase a old joke, "Knock, Knock. Who's there? It's the best folk music album of all time."

With tongue firmly in cheek, Christopher Guest & Co. of "This Is Spinal Tap" have written and produced these songs with an authenticity that makes me swear I grew up listening to the Folksmen, Mitch & Mickey, et al. The big difference I see with "A Mighty Wind" compared to "Spinal Tap" is the level of affection the creators seem to have for these characters, who aren't skewered as harshly as the rockers of "Tap" were. My favorite tune, "A Kiss At The End Of The Rainbow", is a truly beautiful composition written by Michael McKean, and performed admirably by Katherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy. Okay, so the playlist doesn't include "The Catheter Song", but there are plenty of chuckles to be found in the other tunes, especially the "serious" ones. While the movie displays Guest's skill as a satirist, it is made truly memorable with these terrific songs. Watch the movie, buy the album. And then go see the stars on tour at your local casino, amusement park, or trade show.
