  • This is the best MC hands down

I bought this though I already have most of these songs from the best part and his other albums. Not to get overly gushy but, he's the best: clever, real, catchy and most of all smart. He doesn't beat you over the head with his intellect, I'm smart but I like to party and have fun. I don't know which is sadder, the fact that he left teaching or the fact that no major label thought enough of him to actually PUT OUT his album.Support this brother because he's one the last of his breed.

I can remember being in my dorm room when J-Live played "Braggin Writes" during the Stretch & Bobbito Show in the Fall of 1997 at like 1 in the morning. I taped it and listened to it over and over until I cold get it on vinyl like 3 weeks later. Ahh, the days of the 'backpackerz'... Take a listen yalls.

I saw him perform at Oberlin College. Dude opened for The Cool Kids and BLEW THEM OUT OF THE WATER! Dirty beats and dirty rhymes....
