I was pleasently surprised with this album. The Super Furry Animals have slightly changed their sound on this one, and I like the direction they went it. This is by far my favorite SFA release.

I think SFA is the best band in the world but this album is probably my least favorite in their catalogue. Almost every song sounds really promising but they all kind of just sputter out after 2 min ( except for cardiff and neil diamond ). Maybe its because I love all their other albums and I'm being a little hard on this one. But it just doesn't measure up. I never thought I could be bored by their music but Moped Eyes, Helium Hearts, White Socks/Flip Flops, and Inaugural Trams (could have been 2 minutes shorter) are like SFA songs from an alternate universe. I would have given this album 2 stars but there are like 3 or 4 good tunes here like Mt. and Lliwiau Llachar. Oh well whatever.

My first exposure to SFA . . . brilliant! Comparing it to what I know, if you like yo la tengo, Vampire Weekend, Beach Boys, Fountains of Wayne, Annimal Collective and The Samples, then you'll love SFA -- I do!

Best album of the year so far. Honestly - this is my favorite album of theirs since Rings Around the World. I am in constant amazement that SFA is not huge over here in America. They are one of the best bands going right now. Do yourself a favor and listen to this album the whole way through - you'll love it.

I thought it had an interesting sound and maybe the rest of the album wasn't for me, but the only one I definitely liked was Mt. Sorry boys, it does all aound quite the same except for that one, and i think you got it right with that one.
