Cousteau's follow up to their self-titled debut is an improved variation on the band's quintessential themes. The recording quality is exceptionally higher and compliments the brooding lounge-rock and above average lost-love lyrics. Lead singer Liam McKahey brings enough passion to the table to overcome the group’s innate melodrama and songwriter and arranger Davey Ray Moor doesn't miss a syncopated beat. The trumpet plays a smaller role leaving more room for guitarist Robin Brown to explore the nearly forgotten lands of 60s spy guitar. However, the band never looses its tight approach to song arrangement. For proof, check out "Heavy Weather" and "Hungry Times."
