The version of eyes of the world, at this show, is worth buying the whole show! Other songs are strong but this eyes is one of BEST EVER!

I really liked this album while I had it installed on my phone. The iTunes Store shows that I have it purchased but I cannot re-download really unfortunate :/. One day it just deleted itself somehow and I keep checking back to see if it was just a bug and maybe an update fixed it. Nope.

I love this show. Imho, it compares to any of the class 70s shows. One of my favorites is this Crazy Fingers. The piano took the title literally and plays crazy improv; it's funny, beautiful, classic. And maybe the best Franklins Tower ever.

This is when they achieved their mature, polyphonic sound in 91. My all time favorite Dead show. Classic!

Absolutely the most unbelievable Eyes jam, period. A range of factors key in: the energy Jerry opens with, the unbelievable sound quality on ITunes, the synchronous drums... but early in the main jam comes in something marvelous, and wholly rare. Out of the middle of Jerry's early solo from behind and seemingly in perfect harmony with the Caribbean feel he's laying comes Bruce with a riff that doesn't step on toes... But it sure does kick in the pants. Immediately you can feel not only Jerry smiling through his licks, but also Phil starts laying off it, and of course Mickey sits on it - even Vince starts feeling it. All the while Bruce lays back, like a glove in hand. In my opinion the phrase "I never wanted this song to end" is too often overused, but this one one for me could go on ad infinitum. Get it now.

I love the Dead but I have to say I do not like Hornsby's playing in these shows. It was better when it was just Vince which was the case post 1991 and if I am not mistaken Boston was the last set of shows Bruce played with the band. He's too "pop" and too classical, his playing sticks out like a sore thumb and it almost distracts from what the band is doing otherwise.

Normally I don't dig much past '79, but this is a very solid pick. It has a very different vibe and sounds like something played at a large venue. At times the guitar effects remind me of Trey Anastasio's guitar effects. The Dead will always be by far the best jam band, but I'm a Phish kid as I was 9 when Jerry passed. Even for '91 the Help>Slipknot>Franklin's was great. Solid from start to finish. The Eyes is blistering and one of the best I've heard. If you like the dead at all pick this one up. The heart of gold boys are on and you wouldn't know the end of our favorite guitarist is near. Forget your qualms with late era dead for this one.
  • The Grateful Dead + Bruce Hornsby = great.

Yes, it's 1991 not 1977, but the band is on and Bruce is a great addition.
