This show contains one of the best 1st sets I've ever heard (and I've heard a lot!). The boys are super tight, their voices are in great shape, and the recording is stellar. SInce they were on their home turf, they clearly wanted to start things off right. Predictably though, they went back stage and got ripped! You can clearly tell the difference when they returned for the 2nd set. Set 2 has the usual highs and lows but Set 1 is out of this world!

There is much better '74 material out there but don't let that discourage you from buying this one. There are some vocal mistakes and oddities. Jerry whispers the vocals in Morning Dew. Good sound quality on disc 1 but the guitar is a little thin. The performances are a little average on disc one as well. Nothing to right home about. Disc 2 starts a little odd. They false start on playing. I have never heard that happen and I have heard 30 plus dead shows. That being said the jam that is most of disc two is very good and makes this pick worth buying.

Please don't be confused; this rating is NOT based on the album... I have not purchased it yet (though I most likely will because 72-74 is my favorite period of the Dead). I am scoring a poor rating because the "Album Review" describing this download is from DP 12. I already know that's a great pick; I'm looking at DP 24 and would like to know if it is a good show!

The early 70's were a great time for the Dead. Jerry's singing was still good and the band was tight. This is a great album.
