  • Thank you Spoony!

Like many other people I'm sure, I was introduced to the Irresponsibles by the Spoony Experiment. The show's theme song (Break Me) was catchy, and spurred my interest in the band and wouldn't you know it, they're pretty good! Break Me is my personal favorite but not because of Spoony, yet, thank you Spoony! Thank you for revealing a underrated band to me and to a lot of other people!

I had to have this for my iPod. One of the best Indie bands from Australia.
  • Love that Voice!

Listening to the power of that voice... Amanda really is rocking it out. It takes me back 25 years... A voice like that of Blondie's Debby Harry. A powerful and well textured ensemble behind it. I've been listening to them over on myspace for some time. And the EP is no disappointment. THe blend of voice, guitar, bass, and drums is powerful, well mixed, and beautifully in sync with the songs of love gone wrong that defined much of the Guitar Rock sub-genre. They know their roots, and build well upon them. Rock, pure and anything but simple! The kind of music that got me motivated in the mornings in the early 1980's. Well worth twice the price.

This album is the best rock I've heard in a long, long time. I love it. It's all I listen to in my car. The guitar is sizzling, the vocals are haunting and bold. The drums and bass are funky and driving. This Aussie band is going places. My goal in life is to see this band live. A shining first effort!

This stuff rocks. Wish I could make it to Australia to see them live.
  • Search for it because of Spoony, love it for what it is!

I love it. The whole thing. The hooks. The beats. The rhythms. I admit... like most of the people reading this probably, I searched them out because I loved the Spoony videos. Goodness... I couldn't be more pleased that I did. For a meager six bucks (American) I found something that'll be on my iPod for a long time to come. A very upbeat, "pop"py without sounding trite, and fantastic band. Like most people, I think "Break Me" is my favorite... but like all good music, the more you listen to all the songs, the more you fall in love with them. I'm sure that next week (after I've listened to Break Me a thousand times) my favorite will be a different song from this album, and I'll think it's even better. Just as a closing note... this is the coolest band in the world. I'm not saying they'll do this for anyone else... but when I made a purposeful hunt in finding information about them... when I went to them, and expressed my interest... they came back to me AS APPRECIATIVE OF ME FOR BEING INTERESTED, as I was appreciative of them for playing such fantastic music, that they offered to send me... for free... from Australia to the United States... a "special" "unreleased" demo CD. It might seem like a little thing... but wow... I was blown away. What band does that? I'm not saying they'll do that for you... I don't know what they have available... but buy this CD. Help them get big. Hell... who knows... maybe when they're headlining UCSB, they'll send me back stage passes, and I'll get to meet these wonderful Aussies (you hear me Edgelett? You play Santa Barbara... I want tickets!). Seriously though... awesome album, awesome people... awesome everything. The best six bucks I've spent in ages.
