This is the first time listening to Chimaira, and I have to say that this is awesome. It starts off with "This Present Darkness", which is five minutes of insanity. Great song, I highly recommend you buy it out of all songs on the album. But "Painting the White to Grey" is a really good song following "This Present Darkness". It is personally my second favorite song on here. Aside from those two killer songs, the rest are great, but I'm not huge on "Gag".

This album is really exciting and some songs were taken and done on the next album. It is really interesting to hear how the songs started in thier demo format and you can really see how the band has matured in thier music. If anything you should at least get the track titled "This Present Darkness," its insane and one of the best Chimaira tracks I have ever heard.

I got a hold of the actual cd when I bought one of the band's dvd's a few years ago. Its amazing to see how the band has progressed since the inception of Chimaira. This and Pass Out of Existence are basically "cousins" (some of the demos here made it onto Pass Out of Existence); but it was on the Impossibility of Reason where the current Chimaira started to develop. Not a bad set of tunes though.
