I remember listening to a Peter Wolf interview one time, n he said how the band would go on a nationwide tour n lose there shirts money wise, in his words we’d finish the tour n we got our teeth kicked in. But all we ever had to do was go back to our adopted home Detroit City n we’d sell out 5 r 6 shows n be back in the black. Man how we love that city. As a kid who grew up in the D I can tell u, man we loved them. To see that band in their prime was really something they blew the roof off every nite.

I was a senior in high school growing up in the Bronx when this album first came out almost 50 years ago. I listened to it hundreds of times after school and it’s still great music today. Whammer Jammer!!!

Second only to Allm Bros. Live at the Fillmore. You have to play Full House really loud!!

This is a Top 10 Live Rock Album of all time. Very underrated. "Whammer Gammer - let me hear ya Dickey!!". "Serve you right to suffer baby - serve you right - you gonna live the lonely life". Doesn't get much better than that. Got to play it loud.

The Detroit fans went CRAZY when Geils came into town, Blue Collar workers was their fan base. The energy that came from stage was like no other, It was cool, I ve saw 3/4 of the shows.

This album is a gift for all of you rock and roll fans who are willing to take a bit of detour from what's traditionally been the popular, played on the classic rock stations stuff. That's not to say that that music isn't great too but it aint this. For reasons I'll never understand the songs on this album are just merely OK when you listen to the studio album versions but when this band takes these songs on tour they transcend into the most amazing songs you've ever heard played on stage. I've heard this band called the greatest live rock and roll band of all time and after seeing almost all of the greats (including led zeppelin, the who, AC/DC, bruce, the rolling stones, etc.), i can;t argue one bit with that designation. HINT: TURN IT UP AS LOUID AS U CAN FOR FULL EFFECT

The only major problem with this record is…. that it is too short! It clocks in at 35:42 total. Not much for such an album of iconic greatness. This should have been a double live record like The Allman Brothers at Fillmore East! No matter the length though, this is the real deal and there is nothing better than this for a live recording PERIOD!

A friend turned me on to J Geils just before this album hit the shelves. We bought it and loved it. The best live album ever! Then we got to see them onstage. Bummer, dude. They did the concert exactly, and I mean EXACTLY like like the album, right down to the snappy patter between numbers. I might as well have been home listening to the album. Was it live or was it Memorex? Never had the same feeling for the band after that.

I defy you to sit still and listen. Not possible.
