Sunshine (Remastered)

You know what the best song I like out of all the Sunshine Album? (Drum roll) "One Big Family!" It's one of the best songs there is. And they're right, we are one big family on this planet earth! No doubt about it. Of course "Sunshine" is not that bad either. Catchy tune, don't you think? Thank you Itunes for helping me reliving my childhood days. Brings a tear to my eye. To be honest, I never had that record as a kid.

A Summer Pray for Peace hit #1 in South Africa in 1971. And the rest of this album contains great songs, too. Never thought I'd be able to purchase this. Thanks ITunes for making this great album available.

"Sunshine" managed to crack the top 40 on Billboard's charts... it would have done better had radio station programmers played their music by how good it sounds and not by the hype of the artist. After all, what hype does Archie get? The title track is a classic summer song with a great sound to it. Credit that to Bobby Bloom's talent who co-wrote the song and sang some back-up. No "kiddie" songs here as the group tackles environmental issues in "Mr. Factory", off-beat songs about rivals in "Waldo P. Emerson Jones" which for some reason shows-up in many Archies hits collections. "A Summer Prayer for Peace" makes a statement about the Vietnam War and over-population (when we ONLY had 3 billion people). Surprisingly, the song was a number 1 hit in South Africa equally surprisingly, didn't do much domestically. Jeff Barry does the bass singing in this song. "Dance" and "Suddenly Susan" are very danceable and listenable with the distinctive vocals of the still-performing and showing no signs of stopping Ron Dante. The album rounds-out with a song for brotherly love in "One Big Family" and another summer classic "It's The Summertime". It's been one of my favorite albums since 1970. If you love summer sounds, you'll love this album.
