X Japan is one of the greatest rock bands of all time! They really need to get their other stuff on here: Vanishing Vision, Art Of Life, Dahlia. The Singles: IV, Jade. The Greatest Hits albums: World Best, X Singles, Perfect Best, Star Box, B.O.X. The Live albums: Art Of Life Live, Live Live Live Tokyo Dome: 1993-1996. Basically everything they ever released!

After reading that this band inspired one of my favorite bands to start making music, checking them out seemed like a no-brainer. I was sorely let down when I previewed what sounded to me like a bunch of songs that were basically the same and quite bland. However, I kept coming back to preview the songs again, and I soon found myself enjoying them. To anyone who is unfamiliar with music of this time and style, you might be feeling the same way. What I failed to realize at the time was the songs are actually quite diverse, ranging from classically influenced ballads to straight-up speed metal. The music is not bland at all; it is very well arranged and is quite original. The members are excellent at their instruments, keeping up with the demanding songwriting. Not every song is perfect, but even the worst songs are good. If you don't understand why everyone loves X Japan, give it some time. You'll be screaming, "WE ARE X!!!" before you know it.

Best X album. Vanishing Vision follows in a close 2nd but this album is awesome. All the band members are amazing but to me Taiji is a real standout. Listen to the intricacies of his bass compositions and how it cuts through on the record. I never cared for bass until I heard X-Japan and how Taiji really made the instrument lucrative to their sound.
The Whole album is awesome including Blue Blood, X, Orgasm, Weekend, Kurenai, Unfinished and Xclamation.

This is an amazing album. X Japan at their best. I really hope their newer work leans more toward Blue Blood, and less toward popularized American Alternative Rock, as with their latest three songs. This album has everything, my favorite being Easy Fight Rambling. I would recommend that anyone reading this review should buy the album immediately. It's the album that really brought Visual Kei to life, and put X Japan on the road to superstardom. WE ARE X!
