As a twenty year old history major in college, civil war reenactor, and music fan of all genres, I can say that this group is by far one of my favorite bands to listen to. Their lively demeanor and tone always gives their music that little bit of extra zip. One can easily tell that they truly enjoy what they do.

In my humble opinion, these guys are by far one of the best groups to hear for Civil War era music. Whenever I go to a reenactment, I always check to see if they are there to hear them. This live album is great in that they give a small introduction to almost every song they include. The only thing I can say is better then this album is actually seeing them play live.

I have been filming Civil War reenactments for the past several years, and this group is always the one we want to see show up to play for us! They re always at the top of their game, and no matter the event, they put on a great show for everyone. I have several of their autographed CDs, including DULCEM MELODIES, and WAITING FOR THE FEDERALS is one of my all time favorites, which I first heard one night, at my first event, the 140th Appomattox (google the words CONFEDERATE PICTURES REENACTMENTS for the official sanctioned video we did for that event), and it haunted me until I finally heard it again at Cedar Creek, and got the name for it. I also enjoy their renditions of just about everything else; BLUE TAIL FLY, ANGELINA BAKER, JENNY GET YOUR HOECAKE, OLD ROSIN THE BEAU, and definitely SOUTHERN SOLDIER! Best of luck, guys! Hope to see you again on the circuit! Geo
