Saw them last night near Portland, Or. The first time I saw them was on the Back to Oakland tour with another Bay area band, Quicksilver Messenger Service. They started with Oakland Stroke and just tore it up from there. Squib Cakes is still one of my all time favorite live tracks. Lenny Pickett and his wild dancing and Lenny Williams whose vocals are still the standard for all true TOP fans. The other curious thing was that me and my friends were like one of 6 caucasians in the audience. The brothers were cool and this album and that show helped me develop a lifelong love for TOP!

Sometimes, I've had to pull my car over when I hear Squib Cakes. The interplay between Chester and the horns causes a sudden joyful spell to come over me and I can't quit bobbing my head, shaking my behind, and attempting to stomp my left foot through the floorboards.

Being an avid TOP fan since 1972! I believe this was the best core group that rocketed Tower to their status of today! Adding Chester Thompson on the Hammond B3 organ and Bruce Conte from the group the Loading Zone along with Lenny Pickett from the same group. Tower now had the ability to play any music with soulful powerful ease!
