In the age of Judy Garland and Shirley Temple, one talented and forgotten star arose named Deanna Durbin. Trained in opera, she brought forth a stronger voice than was seen in most musicals, such as the classics "Three Smart Girls" and "The Butler and His Sister" (my personal favourtie being "It Started With Eve" which included the original rendition of 'When I SIn'- the famous song from Sleeping Beauty). Then again, I'll admit that I gaze at her with rose coloured spectacles, since I am her cousin and somewhat a dead ringer for facial features (if only I could have that voice!). However, if you would even like to partake of the golden age of Hollywood, please look here. As an added bonus, she lost Dorothy in Wizard of Oz to Judy Garland. Second place! Also, I love None Shall Sleep Tonight. It is the english version of Nessun Dorma!
