I usually only listen to rock but I came across this album and I cant get it out of my head! There are a few songs I'm not a fan of such as "Daddy" but "Dare" is brilliant and beautiful! I love his voice and his style! And I dont try new things but I'm glad I did!

"The term Cyanotic is a scientific term for when there is an inadequate supply of oxygen to the blood. I changed the spelling to Psy, as in psychology, as a metaphor for a lack of thought in today's music. I suppose the album is to be a kind of cure, hopefully, for this prevailing lack of mental and emotional stimulation." - Thomas Dekker Definitely no lack of thought in these tracks, Psyanotic moves with an odd sense of fluidity not generally found in mainstream music. And I'm starting to see why. Most people, it seems, either turn a blind eye to the music in favour of his looks or run away from the speakers before the songs begin. That being said, looking straightforwardly at this tracks I have to applaud Dekker for the work. Flawed in places, and heavily reminiscent of foreign acts Bjork and Fever Ray, it is not the best album I have ever listened to. But it is far from the worst, too. This isn't "easy listening", it's meant to be a musical enlightenment of sorts. Most mainstream listeners can't stomach any sort of experimentation or deviation; that's common knowledge, so just accept it. But it is quite a transcendant album, and an impressive one for a first release by someone who is primarily an actor. A vocal range and electronic genius like this should not be wasted; bring on the sequel album!

This is not an album for the faint of heart; it is not easy listening. While it has some fun rhythms and moments that can play in your head on a loop, it demands a great deal from the listener. It is analogous to free jazz in its intent and the likely response from a lay audience. It can be called pretentious and pseudo-intellectual, or as a freshman attempt of teenager who has no musical ability, but neither is true, mostly. It has flaws, but in all it is interesting, smart, and difficult -- as a lot of good art is. If however, you want to listen to it because he’s cute, I would not recommend it. That said, I really like it.

Most-most people will not be able to relate to this music. It sounds like Disney/Star Trek crashed a rave in Las Vegas. Totally overdubbed and plastic. Only girls and "guys" enamored with his looks will be able to make a connection here. Stick to acting Thomas. No offense, just honesty.

I'm a huge fan of Thomas Dekker's acting so I was very surprised to come on here and find that he has an album. Curiosity got the best of me so I bought it. I haven't stopped listening to it on a constant loop since. This man is amazing! Psyanotic is my absolute favorite song but all the songs are great. Can't wait for his next album (which I heard is coming this July)! Thomas Dekker rocks my world!!!

Honestly, I was pretty skeptical about buying this album since the 30 seconds clips do not do this album any justice. Yet, after purchasing it, I found myself a bit addicted to this album. Thomas Dekker really took a huge chance in coming out with this album and I feel like he's under appreciated. Anyway, if you enjoy experimental music/electronic, this album is a must have! It is so different and I love it!

Ok Not so sure about this....Its a little too out there for my taste. Lava Life is okay, but I swear he sounds like a women in Melt Away. He's a great actor but this is a little strange. 3 stars for effort and the guts to put out something different.

Typically, it's not very exciting when actors turn a new leaf and decide to jump into a music studio and create an album made from recycled tunes. This is NOT one of those cases. Thomas Dekker has created a new style and sound I've never heard before. Usually, I'm not drawn to music like this, so I was surprised at how much I liked it when I heard the album. Dekker has invented his own musical technology that is new and inspiring. It's not like anything you'll hear right now on the radio and that's what makes it so fascinating. In his song, "Dare," he apologizes for being who he is, no apology needed! A lot of artists need to sit down, listen to this album and take notes, because I think Dekker has a bright future for revolutionizing music. If you're looking for something new and creative, buy this album, you won't regret it!! I'm looking forward to the next album.
