Best of Stargate SG-1 (Soundtrack from the TV Series)

It needs, as other people mentioned, Asgard theme, Promethius theme, and, what I thought of, The Ori theme!

Though I'm grateful for this album, the Asgard theme--first introduced in "The Fifth Race"--really should have been on this album. Of all the recurring themes that can be found in SG-1, that is arguably one of the most important and musically beautiful musical cues. It occurs in NUMEROUS episodes, too. I would give the album 4 stars but without that theme, which is what motivated me to search for an SG-1 soundtrack in the first place, I really can't give the album more than 3 stars.

I have been waiting for this forever! Joel Goldsmith's musical genius is finally being recognized. However Season 1's only the beginning. I'm dying to get Season's 2-10, with such incredible scores as "Window of Opportunity", "Tangent", and the Sam/Jack theme from "Divide and Conquer". Please let Joel's talents be appreciated to the maximum!

Joel Goldsmith really captures the essence of a discovery as the Stargate, the Main Title relates to the epic scale of this thing

I Love this album. I've had it for a couple of years, and I love to listen to it while I'm working on my writing. However, all of these tracks are from season 1, and Joel didn't write his best themes until later, in my opinion. It's been a while since this came out, and I'm waiting for more. How about it, MGM? How about another CD with some of the later themes? Please?

Thank you for putting this up iTunes and thank you MGM for releasing it. Stargate SG-1 is my all time favorite show, and a huge part of what made the show great was its wonderful musical cues. I found Cold Lazarus to be especially touching. However, I don't want to seem ungrateful but if you are reading this MGM, please release another such album but with themes from seasons 2-10. There is still many wonderful pieces, such as the Prometheus theme, Window of Opportunity, Urgo's theme, Holiday, I could go on and on. Excellent album nonetheless.

Through the years, many science fiction shows have been created and changed the way we look at the genre. Firefly, Doctor Who, Andromeda, Farscape. But Stargate SG-1 was vastly different from any of these shows because they showed the human aspect. The characters were very human, very easy to empathize with and understand. They faced regular challenges that made the show very easy to enjoy. I'd like to think that the music conducted by Joel Goldsmith only added on the show's brilliance by reflecting the show's human qualities with the perfect sound for every situation. An excellent buy for a die-hard fan or one who enjoys good music.
