I heard these guys from The Awful Show Podcast, and I'm glad they appeared on there otherwise I would have never heard them at all! This album is a great mix of eager piano based noise/anger music, I like how the metaphors are kept to a minimum and the lyrics are straight forward and to the point. If you like these guys then I suggest subscribing to The Awful Show Podcast, it's free, hilarious, and is a great way to find new/amazing music!

There is something to be said about piano based rock / pop. Every generation has their piano masters- If Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Joel or Elton John are too old for you and you have worn out your Ben Folds, then Team Illuminati offers a fresh take that can not be categorized into one genre. The full 88 key range, interesting lyrics and great vocal tone is pure to please. Also, in a world of single song downloads, American Dream offers a tight album package the flows like a masterpiece.
  • T.I. is mad-talented and Ernesto is a great guy worth supporting

This is exactly the kind of indie music that is going to bring the recording industry to its knees. Great music, well produced and worth every penny. Buy some and support these awesome talents and tell the RIAA to go jump off a bridge.

Came across this from a podcast that I listen to and decided to pick it up and they are great. Love the way the songs flow into each other and a really great collection. Definitely worth buying.

  • Breath of Fresh Air

Harmonically complex and melodically rich, this album is a fantastic amalgamation of styles and sounds. We Are and Michelle in particular soar right out of the speakers and into our imaginative spheres. The textures of the album are rich, layering acoustic and synthetic sounds in a coherent rather than contrasting manner, excepting of course the moments where their juxtaposition is deliberately striking, even shocking. For instance, Ashtray stands out as the only fully acoustic song--for just piano and voice. And the off-putting low hums and fast-reverse of MaerdNacirema provide a perfect hazy coda to an album about the ugliness and inevitable beauty of the world and its people.

I haven't played a song 10 times in a row in years, but that's what I did with We Are just a couple of weeks ago. Really intelligent, thoughtful, silly writing--incredible musicianship and awesome production! YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY OWN THIS RECORD!!!!

wow...modern day Pink Floyd/Moody Blues production with amazing melodies. Had to stop completely to what I was doing to listen closely to every word and sound. That only happens once in a blue moon...great job!
