  • An Amazingly Talented Artist!

We attended a performance of hers in Portland, Oregon and expected a band. What we got was amazing in the form of Emily playing all the music and singing all on her own! We couldn't keep our eyes off her! My brother ran into her downtown Portland soon after and was enchanted by how articulate and friendly she is! In a time where actual talent is lacking in so many "Musicians" it is a true joy to know there are still true artists like Emily out there. We live in San Diego, Ca. now and have been keeping our eyes opened for her to make a stop on tour in our area as she is someone we would love to see again!

I met Emily at a coffee shop. She was friendly and outgoing and had told me she was a musician. When I asked her if she had a website, she gave it to me and I am blown away by the insane talent of this artist/musician. It it Classical meets Hip-Hop. And a unique sound that is stand alone. This is a gifted artist and an absolutely stellar album. While it may be limited in constant vocals, just listen and hear out the music. It is amazing!

Previously I bought a single song by Emily Wells. I saw this album, listened some and bought the whole thing. You should too. The. Whole. Album. It is brilliant, folkish, singer songwriter, street savvy, just plain awesome. I am amazed.

I succeeded on Symphony 3. The rest of the album is very listenable, though the mix is a little light on the vocal tracks. They tend to be a little wispy in spots, but overall, I'd say this is a very succesful album. It blends styles very nicely in an age when musicians have largely left their artistic ambitions and creative voices in the dust looking for the commercial jingle. This album is indeed refreshing.

Have you ever heard an song from an artist that you'd never heard of before and thought to yourself, this is exactly what I've been dreaming about? That defines this album. Almost a dream, only better.

This is a huge musical wake-up call. The Symphonies contain sort of musical dichotomy that demands complete emotional attention, and a sense of wimsy and joy...all in one go.
