I was predisposed to like this album after reading the unnecessarily venomous itunes review, but whe I listed to it found myself unexpectedly loving it. A lot. I like the vocal style, the beats, the harmonies, and the lyrics. Rock on, Mock Orange!

Ignore the opening album review and expand your mind. This is an interesting journey that propels you in different directions but keeps you on the path less chosen. It is something different for everyone and far from generic, in fact it's innovative and refreshing..it's a new world for music and I like the road it's heading down, Mock Orange is one of the Pioneers! Graet vocals, greater lyrics, absolute must-have cd..buy it and ask questons later!

  • This is what indie rock should be,

This is a criminally under-rated band that has released yet another indie rock gem. Starting with Mind Is Not Brain, Mock Orange migrated from a emo rock style to a more mature Pavement-like sound. Captain Love is a remarkable follow up to that album and has a feel all its own. The songs are dense in structure but do not overwhelm you complexity; these are riffs not just for riffs-sake but are organic from a truly cohesive band.

If you loved Mock Orange's last album, Mind is Not Brain, you will think Captain Love is a godsend. They really are one of the best indie-rock bands out there right now, and this album proves that in many ways. Give them the respect their deserve, and buy this album.
  • I miss my old Mock Orange

Mock Orange was such a promising band and their first two albums "Nines and Sixes" and "Record Play" were amazing...then something happened and their sound became less intense and more whiney. Mind Is Not Brain is an awful record and this one is even worse. I MISS MY OLD MOCK ORANGE!!!
  • Simply Amazing

If you only want to buy one album this year due to gas prices, inflation, whatever, buy this one. It will satisfy anyone's music taste. Whether you are a classic rocker, led zep head, pavement groupie, or old Mock Orange fan, you will be thrilled with the new album Captain Love. The guitar work and vocal harmonies have improved so much from previous efforts. Buy the album, buy the posters, the buttons, the shirts, give this band what they deserve. This release deserves nothing but applause.
