If you're a fan of west coast rap, this album is probably THEE closest to the thing the West had as a soundtrack for the early 2000s.
DJ Quik (as a producer) was in rare form on this album and was flat out showing off his genius. It's really great to hear guys like Suga Free, Hi C, Playa Ham - among others who DJ Quik made shine together on this album.
Mausberg (right before his death) shined on thing. As a 15 track album, you might find yourself casually skipping over 3 or 4 tracks only as they feature some really low rent no name artists (that aren't even credited on the album). For example, on the track called "Mama", you had this really corny guy who was trying to replicate DMX's sound (remember, this was the early 2000s and for a while there DMX was the guy to be and the guy to beat).
I feel that if those 3 or 4 tracks with no name guys were scrapped and they had taken time to make even more DJ Quik heavy produced jams, I could've EASILY given this album a full 5 stars. I had this album when I was about 15 or 16 years old. I'm 30 and I STILL play this- that's how well it's aged.
The opening track is AMAZING and even features Xzibit, which is an awesome opening for an album thats so West coast funk heavy.
If you're a fan of late 90s/early 2000s gangsta rap/west coast culture, GET...THIS...ALBUM.

This album is a mixture of classic D.J. Quik production mixed with the them up in coming Mauseberg(R.I.P.) and Suga Free in usually rare form. My favorite is "Don't Walk Away" were Suga Free goes extra hard on em!!!!!
