I was born in 1977 and a couple songs were popular, so my dad always had a tape of something that was popular. This cassette was burned into my brain, I just thought about it tonight, and I downloaded the album, not the best hits, this album!.the flashbacks and memories and just knowing which lyric is coming next is so beautiful to me. I know all the band members aren’t there anymore but I can still pretend. I love it.

If you like ‘80s music, this is an album that should be in your collection…. Or as said today, it should be in the playlist of your favorite hits of the decade. Five stars. *****

This is possibly one of the best albums ever. I even bought a shirt with the album cover on it. The golden tracks are Who Can It Be Now, Down Under, Touching The Untouchables, and Catch A Star, but every other song is amazing too. I’m totally buying Men At Work’s other albums.

A great representation of the early 80’s. Absolute perfection.

Men At Work are not simply a novelty act. In fact, it's rather sad that they may go down in history as "those Australian guys". They deserve better, and Business As Usual attests to that. One could draw a few comparisons to the Police. For example, the reggae-tinged pop-rock is similar. Both groups sport an easily recognized, notably accented vocalist. And both have a penchant for penning and performing good, tasteful, mainstream and yet eccentric pop; and it still sounds good today (mostly). "Down Under" is a wonderful tune, and it shows the band's pride in its heritage with big hooks and carefree lyrics. Many songs are surprisingly cerebral, more so than most other pop. "Who Can It Be Now?" provides a strange portrait of insanity, as does "Helpless Automaton" (although the latter is horribly dated; yes, there are robot sound effects). "Be Good Johnny," despite its jokiness, is quite immersive of the listener in its daydream, and succinct in its approach. However, besides that song, the second half lacks the quality of the first. It's not a perfect album. Some of the material hasn't aged well, but Business As Usual is a good album, by a good band, with good songs. I recommend it for anyone with a taste for pop, rock, a mix of the two, or good music in general.
