Goin' up Yonder is a reminder of my own family roots and traditions. Church, Sunday dinner, family time, all wrapped up in great gospel music. This song was one of my parents' favorites and became mine too. Hearing it sung brilliantly gave me chills. Uplifting, reminiscent, and spiritual. Thank you! Thank you!

There is no one and never will be an artist as great as Tramaine Hawkins!! Her voice is annointed beyond measure. I remember as a child hearing "Changed", it brought me to tears then and now some thirty years later it is still my favorite song ever. If you've never heard her...you are missing out on an awesome blessing!

I first her Tramaine Hawkins in 1978 in a little church near 92nd ave and MacArther blvd. in Oakland California. It was by accident that had I wandered in. She was pregnant, at least 6 months, but stood before the congregation and sang 'Goin' over Yonder'. So charismatic was her performance that I was moved to weep. She is a true gospel classicist. Though you won't see the sweat streaming down her forhead nor see her urgent gestures nor be treated to the spontaniety of her live performance, you will hear her voice. It is strong and beautiful. It will move you again and again. I highly recommend this album. Enjoy and be moved deeply.
