Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground seem to jump genres multiple times within any given song. However, I wouldn't call them genre-confused. Vaudevillian would be more accurate. And it's genius. You need to hear this album.

These guys really combine different eras of music and twist it together into a magical rainbow crackle taffy!

I just heard this band a couple days ago as part of the AP Tour. I'd never heard of them before but I must say they are excellent. Great sound, awesome live show, love em!

WONDERFUL. Almost flawless. Well, thinking about it, FLAWLESS. I'd put them up with the RX Bandits and Maps and Atlases and all that good stuff!
  • Great show

Just saw this band on new year's eve. Great Show and great music! A ton of people on stage and all kinds of instruments makes their sound unique and corky. Love it.

I've had this album since near its release and it is still in heavy rotation on my computer and in my car. In my opinion this is the best album released to date in 2008. There isn't a bad song on this album, at one point or another nearly all of them have been my favorite. Buy this album, you won't regret it.

I found this band about a week ago on Portugal. the Man's myspace page and listened to the tracks on their profile and then immediatley bought the album. Amazing work, not afraid to be different. I have no idea how you would classify this band when it comes to a genre because its a bit of everything. Funk, jazz, rock, psychedelic, ska, even sounds a bit like ragtime in some songs. Every song on this album is great, never dull. "Hey Mama" "Bowie" and "Cloud Country" are my favorites at the moment. i just wish "Diggin'" was on the album..

I don't know why this band hasn't blown up yet, but be sure to get tickets before this band's wagon takes off. Smooth, lyrical, and not psychedelic enough to become repetitive or annoying--not to mention the solos.

Brilliant! Great Recording! Great Songs Great Album! I always ask myself, why is this band underground! They are not that strange! Are they? Dont most people find their brains in an apartment in chinatown? This music is layered and lush! I can't say enough good things about this music! It is a trip! Buy it! It will soon become the new soundtrack to your life! - peace tjd! Favorite tracks? All of them and track 6 that track is extra smooth......

i adore this album - not a bland moment. lyrically fantastic - with incredibly whimsical depictions (like a bird of paradise - my agenda is my vice) and totally catchy ---- i have been telling everyone i know about KK&HWU!!
