The lyrical genius of The Hush Sound makes the album flow like a poem. The words are beautiful literature set to half-jazzy beats and an all-around vintage hum. Listening to this album is like savoring a 1787 Chateau Lafite: an appreciable wine aged just to the right of perfection. I say "just to the right of" because the sultry, crooning tones of this album are wonderfully balanced with the rougher qualities provided by the occasional edgy back-tune or pleasantly strained vocal.

The Hush Sound has not disappointed me with either of the three albums. I have to say, this is not my favorite album in the world but there is definitly not a huge downffall with this album at all. i do have a little complaint...well...its not a huge complaint...its the same thing that most people have said so far... not a lot of Bob songs. Actually i wont lie, in the beginning when i was first just getting into The Hush Sound, i didn't really like Greta's voice so much. Actaully, i thought it wasnt horrible but Bob's voice i thought was nicer to listen too. With time though her voice has actually grown on me a lot more since then...but as much as i like Greta's voice, i kinda wish Bob had sung some more songs. Then again, its probably about time that Greta gets her own little spotlight, right? Overall, great album to get! Great Music to Listen too!

i've been listening to the hush sound for a while now and knew most of the songs on this cd before i bought it. my favorites are Medicine Man, Molasses, Not Your Concern, and Love You Much Better. all of them are good, but those ones are especially catchy. whenever i hear them, i just have to dance! :D

I absolutely love this album. As usual, the lyrics and vocals are flawless, but with this album the band added new depth and dynamics to their sound. The energy of this CD is astounding and makes the CD easy to listen to the whole way through and dance the whole time. The Hush Sound has to be admired for not selling out and staying true to their own sound and influences rather than sythesizing everything and sounding like the duplicate of all the other FBR bands. Favorites: Medicine Man, The Boys Are Too Refined, As You Cry, Not Your Concern

I love this album. While I cannot decide which of the albums is my favorite yet, I love listening to this one. The Hush Sound is one of those bands that I will never get sick of listening to, and Goodbye Blues perfectly portrays that.

I've got to say this first...if Greta actually can sing like this, why on earth did she wait for the third album to bust out her beautiful singing voice? Her voice is great in this one but I've got to say that it's her tiny, breathy voice that I've come to connect with The Hush Sound. It grew on me, and now it almost feels like they've replaced her. The songs have all got that great Hush Sound sound but there's nothing new on here that really pops out at me.

greta saltpeter's voice is amazing and so is bob's. there isn't a bad song on this album, but if you're looking for some singles i recommend medicine man, the boys are too refined, hurricane, and molasses.
  • it's not that often a band changes it's lead singer in some of the songs

i like the way how they change the lead singer in each of the songs. it's just nice to hear a different person sing once in a while but is still the band that you like to listen to.
  • Ehhh, it's an okay album

I was expecting more from the album, and was sadly disappointed. I much preferred Greta's voice in Like Vines, and I also enjoyed the music more. It was more funky, and upbeat than what they did here.
