  • The most touching movie OST

I still recall the first time I watched the movie Philadelphia and listened to Streets of Philadelphia and Neil Young’s Philadelphia. Back then I was a junior in high school. That was a sunny afternoon in late autumn. The sunlight was extremely sharp that day. The leaves of Boston ivy were turning red. It is the memory ten years ago mixed with the songs that seized me forever.

You’d have Ice in your soul not to feel some kind of emotion from the Philadelphia Soundtrack! Between Neil Young Philadelphia and Bruce Springsteen Streets of Philadelphia this was as great a soundtrack as one can be!

The whole album captures the mood of the film, both the light and dark, in a soul-stirring way.

I know everyone praises Bruce and Neil for their two songs on the soundtrack, and deservingly so (Yes, I to feel that Neil got robbed of the Oscar), but I want to praise the inclusion on the soundtract of Maria Callas' "La Mamma Morta". A very integral part of the movie. The power, passion, and devistation in her voice always bring tears of heartbreak. This song alone (along the Bruce's and Neil's) is worth the price of the whole recording. Buy It.

Shocked to find Bruce getting the Oscar, but whatever. I don't imagine Neil cares. Man I wish this song wasn't album only. ........"Philadelphia" is a great song. But album only? Off to pirate bay.....
  • This is one of my top 5 albums of all time.

This is the third incarnation of this album I have purchased simply because it keeps reappearing in my life when I need it for over 20 years now. It's an amazing album that just keeps getting better with time.
