Wow. that is the understatement for this album. i am a huge zappa fan and in my opinion his best stuff is when they were in the mothers. 200 motels is one of the best "musicals" i have ever seen. too bad that its out of print. If you are into any incarnation of flo and eddie you will fall in love with this and love it forever. carlos and de bull is one of the cheesiest songs ever. now all we need is more.

As the previous reviewer indicated, these guys are GREAT singers. Check this: Not only did Howard Kaylan & Mark Volman sing with the Turtles & Zappa - they were the backing vocalists on nearly all of T. Rex' best and biggest hits! Those high, soulful voices on "Bang a Gong?" Flo & Eddie! The humorous approach they honed with Zappa is still evident on some of this material, including "Nikki Hoi," "Carlos and de Bull," and "The Sanzini Bros." That being said, there guys ROCK, and so did their band. For me, their version of "Afterglow" beats the original - ditto "Days," originally recorded by the Kinks. And the scream on "If We Only Had the Time" rivals anything Daltrey or any other 70's hard rocker ever mustered (although I'm pretty sure that it was done tongue-in-cheek). I saw Flo & Eddie open for Alice Cooper on the "Billion Dollar Babies" tour- their performance led me to these recordings... and I've loved `em ever since.

Finally, Flo & Eddie make it to CD. Previously the only thing available on CD was a Best of collection, now long out of print. These guys are two of the best singers in pop music. The voice of The Turtles, they went solo after a stint with Zappa and The Mothers. They have lent their voices to literally hundreds of recordings over the years. This is their first two LP's packaged together. Now maybe we will see the release of Illegal, Immoral & Fattening and Moving Targets.
