  • Solid songwriting.

I think this album is excellent. I admit though, I can't help imagining how great it might have been if Joe had brought these same songs to the (magically reunited!) Clash and they had done with them what they always did so well . Or at LEAST Strummer/M.Jones. In any case, the album that actually exists is well worth the purchase and well-worth listening to, innumerable times.

It seems every member of The Clash was unispired after their TRAGIC breakup, one of music's greatest losses. Earthquake Weather has few glimplse of Joe's genius and the band, too power-driven and lacking in subtlety, sinks many of these lacklustre songs. Joe would rise again, thankfully. This was not that moment.

A good mix of Rock with World Music, not unlike Global A Go Go or Rock Art. This album was Joe saying "Hey, this is what else I can do and this is what I want to do now. And he did a good job of proving himself after Earthquake Weather fore-ran what would become his successful works in the future
  • Great recordings

Another reason to hate the idiotic mannequins of the recording industry and radio is the refusal to acknowledge this great album.
  • Worth buying just for Leapordskin Limousines

I bought this the same year it came out, and like many it was a difficult transition to understand what Joe Strummer was going through. I think this was his cry to the record producers to let him create music the way he knew he could and wanted to. For that alone it is an important piece from an influential musician who has touched so many lives. This is music that has be 'listened to' to be appreciated. Joe probably would have wanted it that way.

This album got pretty mediocre reviews at the time as most critics seemed to merely want another Clash album, especially after the disappointing Cut the Crap LP came out. Now, almost 20 years later, it seems that this album is finally getting it's due and is being recognised for the gem it is. Leopardskin Limosines and Sleepwalk are both achingly beautiful Strummer classics and should not be missed. Shouting Street is a throwback to the 101'ers days, which is just plain toe-tapping fun. So glad this has been released at last after having been out of print for well over a decade. One of my favorite albums, ever.

I bought this on cassette when it came out. I'm glad they finally posted it here on iTunes as I can't find the tape! My faves are "Dizzy's Goatee" and "Sleepwalk". I also love the "Walker" soundtrack. I met Joe Strummer for a minute when he played with the Pogues in NYC in 1991. I got to tell him how much I liked the Walker soundtrack, he was pleased to hear it. Great man, huge musical influence on me.
  • Finally I Can Put My Cassette Tape Away!!!! Thank You iTunes!

I saw Joe sing on this tour and got the cassette (all the $ I had) then had to wait years for any new music. When Joe got singing again, this album (back when there were no CD's) was out of print. Anyone who enjoys the rest of Joe's post-Clash work will love Earthquake Weather, take the risk and spend the $. Joe we miss you. RIP

When this album was released, it sold only 7,000 copies. I've been waiting a long time for this. This is a very underrated album from one of the all time greats. Hi Jordy
