I checked this out at the library, very skeptical. Ambien doesn’t work for me, same with exercise, chilled pillowcases, you name it. Every night it’s me vs. the never-ending parade of thoughts in my brain. I put this on as a lark, playing it in the background one hour before bedtime. As I finished up some minor paperwork and laundry, I found myself automatically drifting away to the sounds of Delta Sleep. It’s worth trying. It helps ground me for the night.

Do not buy this album unless you are looking for soft, hypnotic, synthesizer noodling. There may be a modicum of science that binaural auditory beats works (the theory behind why his music might help you fall asleep) but this music will not put you to sleep more easily than any other piece of ambient music.
There are MUCH better recordings and musical compositions that can help you relax and maybe fall asleep. This one is just annoying in its amateur quality.

I have been desperate for a solution for short term insomnia. Downloaded this two nights ago and it really did not help. Something about the music kept my mind more alert. I am now going to try his Sleepy Ocean and hope that this does the trick.
- Works Great!!

This album is awsome! Every time I listen to it I pass out within 10 minutes and I stay out until my alarm goes off or until I wake up naturally.
- amazing

this is just great. it really does help you fall asleep, that is, if you let it to. If you're one of those people who think at 100 miles a second, have tons of things running through your mind, or just hyper at all, it wont work really. But if you just relax, clear your mind, and focus on the sounds, you'll get a great nights sleep and wake up refreshed :)

In desperation, but with a great deal of skepticism, I obtained Dr. Thompson's Delta Sleep System. The first night my wife and I played it, I never heard the second tract. That experience remains the norm for me. I have been the poster boy for insomnia for years, with poor to wimpy therapeutic results from pills, potions, and even topical salves and brain wave entrainment. This incredible approach really works.
- best hypnotic induction bar none!!

I love this cd. I use it almost everynight. The first time i listened to it I was like what i can't go to sleep to this. After the third night I'm out for the night in like ten minutes.
- Finally something that works

I admit I was a bit skeptical - I've tried other kinds of sounds, and I found that relaxation nature sounds just never helped me get to sleep. Neither did rain sounds, various meditation music, or just about anything else I can think of. Although I found all of it relaxing and soothing, it just never helped with sleep. I tried this last night and I must say I've never once fallen alseep with headphones on before, but I did last night. The sounds just melted in the background, they are so smooth. I have no doubt there is some kind of medical basis behind this, but I'm sure it's rather simple - this isn't about brainwashing or any of that other silly stuff some people might automatically assume. Research it a bit and you'll find there is nothing voodooish or scary here, nor is this some sort of super awesome spiritual worker.
- Yes folks this is music trying to get you into delta stage sleep not a hypnotic trance

Dr. Thompson has done a better job than most. His later work is even better. Thankfully iTunes is no longer misrepresenting that it provides an explanatory booklet. At this point the trinity of neuroaccoustics is Thompson, Halpern and Kenyon. Some others are producing brain-entrainment music. My Music for a Good Night's Sleep is one of the best. Look up the science(and it's a very young science) of neuroacoustics, binaural stimulation and brain entrainment to have a better understanding of why you need to sleep with earbuds or headphones.
