I Ran So Far Away is my FAV 80’s song! It’s so good that whenever it comes on I can’t help but dance like crazy!

This song is at the end of the Disney plus show What if. Peter Quill is listening to this song while he is mopping up at Dairy Queen when his father Ego walks in. Had to download it. I love Guardians of the Galaxy and the soundtracks!
- One of THE BEST Bands of the 80s

The typical Apple write up on the Flock of Seagulls is dismal but the reality is that this band was original, fresh and inspiring to millions of fans worldwide. They taught us we can be different and still cool. They created the life soundtrack for so many with this album. Mike and his crew may never fully be appreciated for the great music and good times they created, but even the cruel critics know deep down that the Flock was something very special. I think…they are just jealous. This album is history making and still good even now in 2017. Nerds geeks and everyone that is different unite, the Flock will never die. Mike, thanks for the hamburger at Trancas Bar & Grill. Rock on brother!

This cd remains a top 10 favorite. Even use it in my Xbox custom soundtrack. I never get tired of listening to the cd.

I'm 14. I swear, if I were born in the 80's, this would definitely be what I'd be getting turnt up with.
- One of the 80’s Greatest Albums

This debut album is phenomenal with its sound setting it apart from the many synth band contemporaries at the time. While lyrically the songs are lighter than the musical instrumentation they score to the effect of sound. One could say this was almost a precursor to the New Age movement that began in the mid to late 80’s. This album earned a Grammy for best rock instrumental for D.N.A in 1983 and to quote an official from NRAA the song was "distinctive among other acts of the time...for its scope and ambition.” The AFOS sound echoed the great Wall of Sound style of Phil Spector who called this album one of the greatest of all time. I remember the first time I listened to this record and it hypnotic effect it had on me. Though known for “I Ran” I rather liked “Space Age Love” song more.
- better than many would assume

Even if the lyrics aren't quite there, the ingenious production and focus on composition really helps this album in the end. Definitely better than many of the other synth acts at the time like Kajagoogoo and Spandau Ballet

This is not the original 1982 album. The original version of I Ran (So Far Away) is NOT the version with thise ridiculous "bird noise version" intro. I bought the cassette, the vinyl and the 45prm version of this song. This is not it. Admit it.
