I remember sitting in Big Bear, at a retreat, telling one of the members of Reverse Osmosis how great it would be if she could write an arrangement of "Sugar, We're Goin' Down." I remember how she thought it was kinda strange, but she did it. I remember hearing how the other members weren't sure it would work. Now, it's their most popular song on iTunes. I also remember getting teary-eyed when I saw them perform "Fix You," but don't tell anyone.

These guys are geniuses. Every time I listen to The District Sleeps Alone or to Fix You I am moved to tears. Also, who would have thought that the song Sugar (We’re Going Down) could sound so good? All the other songs are amazing too. I listen to it every night before I go to bed. You rock RO! (And you can't spell rock without RO.)

The first thing to pay attention to is the incredible 3-song set that sent Reverse Osmosis to NYC for the national championship round of the ICCA's. It includes "Sugar (We're Going Down)", "Fix You", & "I'd Do Anything for Love". The rest of the CD has song choices you don't often hear done as a cappella. "Someone to Fall Back On" is beautiful arrangement of a Jason Robert Brown tune and is also a CARA award nominee for best solo of the year. "One Angry Dwarf" is a fast moving version of the Ben Fold's classic with a wild breakdown that could fit into the vocal jazz repetoire of a group like the New York Voices. RO also hits the 80's (Journey's "Seperate Ways"), some sweetly inspirational pop/country ("Climb On"), classic rock ("Proud Mary" & "Jet Airliner"), and finishes with a refreshingly organic take on The Postal Service's "The District Sleeps Alone". A must have for a cappella fans.
