To anybody who is first a fan of Pirates (Pirates in general or Pirates of the Caribbean) and likes Hip Hop (not Rap. big Diff.), this CD is a must buy. The CD brings all things that are fun about a Pirates, but sung with a serious tone as if Captain Dan and the crew were really sailing out there and stopped at port to lay down some tracks. From there, the CD has a Flight of the Conchords and Tenacious D quality to it. Their fun, fast beat songs, although many are funny too, they dont come off as their suppose to be funny like Tenacious D but none the less are. This CD is also good for those who just wanna listen to some fun beats and lyrics and want to get away from every sony being so serious and want something more lighthearted, yet dont mistake any of this for lack of polish as the beats, timing, lyrics and all is fantastically put together.

that's how often i listen to Cap D! this album is really good, he raps about historically accurate piratology. i recomend this and all Cap D material. Rime of the Hip Hop Mariner is a great nod to Samuel Coleridge.

I really shouldn't like this as much as I do, but I do, I really really do. I mean c'mon, how dumb of a concept is Archaic Pirate Rap? But I can't stop listening to it. By all rights this should be a one note one trick joke. The lyrics should be stupid and the beats should be limited and lame. But they're not. Especially on Broadside. That's some neat stuff. I mean really, they use the word "Shrive" CORRECTLY in a rap! That's gotta be cool. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this pirate rap....it's... it's GOOD. This is so wrong. I'm gonna go listen to it again.

I'm more of a ninja person, after all, I do know juditsu and taijitsu, but these guys do express the Pirate Phenmenom that is sweeping the Internet and The brains of Middle schoolers everywhere. Puls, they sound good.

This followup album to Captain Dan's 2006 self-titled debut release is an example of how far an artist can come, just in the course of a year. The rhymes are very tight, and the addition of new crew members like ZealouS1 round out the pirate sound. The material is very clever, and the production value has taken a huge jump over their first release. If you like offbeat rap, pirates, rap, or pirate rap, I heartily recomend this CD!

These guys are awesome. So original. Really, who's ever seen a rapping pirate. I've see them do some of these songs live @ Quarterdeck in Boynton Beach and they rock. Its All About The Booty is my favorite track. This album will definitely keep you entertained.
