  • Stop Trashing New Jersey, it

Their music is dense and complex and they're from that fantastic peice of heave called northern New Jersey...simple the best garden in the world! Dance in the clouds my friends, dance your bums off. (the drums are especcially good, very rhythmic and subtle, great)

Stumbled across these peeps while listening to the ever-favorite KCRW 89.9 in Southern California. From the first notes of "Sunvines", I was hooked.

...A band started to play stuff that is other-worldly. In a world of processed, drab, self-indulgent 'rawk' a band like Holler comes along and shows that 'jamming' can be done differently and sound interesting. They don't limit themselves to the 3-4 minute standard we all are force-fed. By no means am I comparing/contrasting, but they remind me of early Verve when they just played, long before Richard Ashcroft decided to stick his nose up to us... What a great f-in album this is. One that you can listen to over and over and each time find nuggets of incredible texture in each track. Giant-conglomerates-media-record-companies... please, please, please, keep your sweaty, dirty paws off these guys!

This album always makes me smile, no matter where I am because of the energy in the music. It's awesome and I love Sun Vines!

Is it possible that a band of warrior poets from NYC are out to save rock n' roll? I think yes.
  • Jesus Christ, what a find!

I stumbled upon this looking at the new releases section of iTunes and bought it immediately upon listening to the clips. The first couple tracks are particularly great - dense, melodic, very well written and catchy. You just get lost in the music. Throughout the record are hints of Ride, Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley. Such a fantastic find!

I saw them when they came to Lynchburg and played at a little coffe shop called the Drowsy Poet. There's just so much music in the music, it's great. I don't know the lyrics or anything but the music is really life affirming.
