dude, the itunes reviewer does not know what he is talking about. do not listen to him. listen to someone who has actually listened to the album. its awsome in such a way that i almost cried when i listened to songs like benjamin Darlin etc. not some trash pop but deals with real issues unafraid to criticize the establishment. State Radio is an awsome band, awsome for the representation of speaking out as a citizen of America
  • Album Review Completely Biased

Is a review of an album supposed to be biased? Because whoever writes the reviews for State Radio's albums cleary has vendetta against the band. Why is he/she trying to degrade Chad and the guys by clearly and openly making fun of them. Calling someone a "white boy" and insinuating he is ignorant of reggae culture because he is from vermont and not Jamaica is discrimination, a feature of society State radio tries to suppress with it's music. This bands rises above expectations of slanderous fools like the person wrote the review. They don't have a genre; they represent a socially conscious group that plays the music to their souls, and to their fans souls. They don't care what mainstream labels them as; nor do we. Listen to their lyrics, their message, their call to service and non-violence. It's bigger and better than all of mainstream music combined.

unlike the i tunes review I thought this album was really good, the songs actually mean something real and they can really teach the ignorant people of america about stuff that is going on elsewhere. the combination of state radios profound lyrics and sound shines through in this album, not all their fans are stoners!!!!!!!!! thanks a lot i tunes reviewer I think they need to find someone else to do your job. KEEP ON GOING STATE RADIO!!

words cannot describe how incompetent the reviewer was and still most likely is. If you have ever been to a State Radio show you know that it is not just a pile of stoned fans. I do not partake in smoking and the 2009 show in Asbury park was the best concert I have ever been to. I love State Radio, the reviewer obviously does not.
  • Worth buying twice just for the heck of it.

Been a while since I have listened to an artist and literally enjoyed every song. This group needs a genre named after them because I can't think of any that actually match their style.
  • Probably as good as Us Against the Crown. Great trombones

Here's the breakdown: Guantanamo- kind of sporadic but good beats, but overall good song Unfortunates- classic SR song: mostly reggae with some rock. worth it The Story of Benjamin Darling- Almost acoustic sounding and also an amazing song CIA- One of the best on the album. Very lively Gang of Theives- good song but not the best Fight No More- probably the best song on the entire album. Softer vocals than usual, which is a nice surprise Barn Storming- very good beat and also one of the best songs Rash of Robberies- I would recommend constant volume changing on this song, but despite the rapid soft-to-quiet it's a really good song Omar Bay- More good beats As With Gladness- amazing instrumentals. One of the best Wicker Plane- catchy vocals Sudan- also has catchy vocals and lyrics. Highly recommend it Fall of the American Empire- Great song. I would've bought the whole album just for this song. Lucky for me, the rest of the album is also amazing. Nice, soft acoustic hidden track at the end. Being a trombone player, I love this song. Just buy the whole thing. You won't regret it.
  • who writes the "itunes reviews"

I don't know who writes the review of the ablums at the top of the page, but that guy is a hack. He says that these guys can't know what they are talking about because they are white guys from vermont?? Since when does someones location or race dictate what they can "know" or understand. You, sir, are the one who does not know what he is talking about. You probably like what is played on the radio or spoon fed to you by your beloved MTV. However, real music fans appricate when a band can be authentic and original. It's your right to review the ablum, but hold your negitives and simply tell us you dont like it because you are too musicly brainwashed to understand what you are hearing.. that will be plenty, while we'll make a decision as to what the "white boys" from jam minded vermont are doing in our own, more informed minds.

Great sound until you listen to the lyrics. Someone needs to tell musicians that they are not politicians. Music should be about fun, not force feeding propoganda. This album is a prime example of why a great band split up.

This album is as good as Us Against the Crown. It is more raw because they cut out all the fancy recording but after one listen I liked the raw sound as much if not more. Favorites are Unfortunates, CIA, Barn Storming, Wicker Plane, and sudan probably, but the rest are a ridiculously close second. The live version of sudan is better in my opinion. Everyone needs to check out the material put out as bonus tracks and EPs. Some of that is State Radio's best work. Esspecially Good Graces on the Wicker Plane EP. It is their best song and one of my favorite songs ever.

first off this album is amazing and while it sounds different than UATC it still continues State Radio's reggae/hard rock music. ive liked state radio since they formed and i love(d) dispatch because they were no doubt the greatest band ive heard. dont listen to the people giveing bad reviews because they dont know where this band is headed. They are trying to move towards rock genre but still keeping their roots. Great album buy it and listen to it over and over again and see them live if you can because thats even better. onto the itunes reviewer: the way he bashes state radio and chetro and the fans by using biased untrue statements like this album will "please the stoned fans" (or whatever it says along those lines) ive loved state radio from the beginning and i havent smoked once and i dont plan on it. and when he says that they are talking about a revolution but "dont know a darn thing about the topic at hand" maybe he should do some background research and look at this country and what the band does and talks about. I cant believe the people who are ignorant like this reviewer and say things like that about a band this great.
