She is obviously infatuated with Bruce. I'm a huge Springsteen fan but Patti is an artist in her own right. These songs are soulful with sophisticated lyrics that ring true. She belongs in the class of Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones, Stevie Nicks etc.. A great songwriter who happens to be married to the most prolific songwriter that ever lived. Judge her on her own merits- Love you Patti

Discovered Patti during the Elvis special a few years ago and am so glad I did. I love her earthy bluesy sound on this album and the honesty of the lyrics really speak to me. Highly recommended.
- Waiting for the tour

I never thought that I liked Patti's voice . I guess I needed to hear her sing her lyrics, wow, I think she surprised me more than I ever thought possible. She's always been there ,back in the shadows, but you have to know that Bruce has always seen it . Go Girl!! Love You!

Good R&B / soul melodies and outstanding arrangements in the same style. The backing vocals add a lot of depth to the songs.
Her voice is a problem for me and many other reviewers. She sounds like Rickie Lee Jones. Voice is not strong enough for lead vocal role in a R&B / soul style.
Lyrics - hmmm. It is hard to hear these and not think of her marriage to Bruce Springsteen and then it is hard to empathize deeply with her over any grievances she may have. LIfe is unfair and relationships are sometimes unfair but the unfairness in the world seems to have benefitted her more than hurt her. Perhaps there should be some songs about how great the life she has is to balance these complaints and speak the whole truth.

I never really was interested in someone that rode coat tails of talented other. But this women stands her own ground, solid!
This is Grammy material - The soul is genuine and it is a tight sound. Man what a gift!
Reminds me of a break out of a back up singer - the last was Sheryl Crow - Patti rocks her socks off - No wonder bruce tailed off a bit - she must be some distaraction - greatest record of 2007
Buy it!!
- She should have taken his name.

Most women don't take their husband's name when they have an established career of their own. She was a nobody when she stole Bruce from Julianne. (?) This woman has always been talentless in my book. He should have kept her as a back-up singer since she can pull off complementing his raspy soulful style. Stand alone, I think not. You're force fed her on Sirius 10 and when she comes on I quickly change to another station.
- over the top

this album has to put patti over the top, town called heartbreak gets this album moving and rainy day man keeps it rockin, like the title says play it as it lays and this one will keep on playin for a long time.

But REALLY great just the same. A little blues mixed with sould and blue grass. She looks very young, but WHat a voice and collection of genres. Marvelous!
- Town Called Heartbreak

I'm so disappointed - I was really lucky to see Bruce and Patti and the rest of the band 6 times on the Magic tour. They did a fantastic version of Town Called Heartbreak together at a few of the shows. This song is brilliant as a duet - but Patti alone...not so much.....although I like her and her singing, this song is much more powerful as a duet. I hope they reconsider and re release it as a duet (even if its with someone other than Bruce - although singing it with her husband is very cute!
