There is no other band like them. Besides Owen Pallett's Final Fantasy's Has a Good Home album, this is the most beautiful sound to come about in a long time.

I actually listened to this based on the album title (which, although I don't have a cd/album, I don't see much kudos to the 'original' artist; but seeing as tho' they're from D.C. I get where they got it from... :-). Definitely Sufijan, but seeing as tho' they'll be touring with StereoLab (Yeah!) I'll hold back on the stars *** until the "whole band"/live can be checked out. So much for nerdy banjo players. Who knew!!??

Very unique sound! Beautifully put together! Also check out the song "A Celebration" on the KEXP Music That Matters podcast. A gem, claro!

Each song is individual enough to the point where they are distinguishable yet they all have an underlying theme and sound that ties them together. Le Loup is really different from any other Indie-Rock band and has a unique sound. The lyrics are really good and the instruments are put together really well. I first downloaded only a couple of songs but eventually ended up downloading the whole album. It's really worth it too!

One of the most under talked about records of the year. It is not an epic album but for what it is, it is beautiful. They have a few hints of Animal Collective but toned down with a more folksy and relaxing vibe.
  • An amazing live show

Saw Le Loup in Atlanta last night and it was an amazing life performance. The band has an excellent stage presence. I had listened to the album a lot before they came to town and the live show is a great and different sound to the album. Listen to the album straight through- it’s not a pick-and-chose the good songs type of album. I'm looking forward to their next visit in Atlanta!

Le Loup was the warm up band to Andrew Bird in Lawrence, Kansas. They are the real deal. I was very wrapped up with their performance. Just wish I had that concert to buy in digital format. Buy the album for it is a definitely addictive sound.

No better combination of keyboards, banjos, french horns, electric drum machines, fischer price voice modifiers, not to mention your standard array of guitars, bass and drums anywhere that I have seen. I couldn't get more excited to see anyone other than maybe Arcade Fire in concert. Their performances will make you dance, clap your hands, jump around, scream and shout, wonder what the hell is going on, forget time, and leave you breathless, wanting more. I cannot wait for their second album. For now, it's a good time to live in DC.
  • Very strong debut and fantastic live show!

Got to see this 7-piece ensemble band open for andrew bird in bloomington, IN. These guys have a ton of energy on stage and are fantastic musicians. Like another reviewer, I was excited to see Mr. Bird (who, ever so cooly, walked by the line of us prior to the show and just smiled) but would have also enjoyed to see more of Le Loup. One of the friendly guitarists signed my album during intermission--Thanks! Best of luck to you, and to new listeners, check out the final track...great stuff!
