A great EP from Nightmare of You, a group of hipsters with a large vocabulary and romantic tendencies. It may take a few listens for NOY to fully sink in, but it's a great listen. They're sound hasn't changed much from their first album, for better or for worse. If you liked their first, you'll like their second. "Herbal Jazz Cigarette" is the highlight of the EP.
  • this is really good.

I love this CD. Case in point: you should give it a listen. It's really great stuff, fun to dance to, or just do homework to. Their first CD is amazing as well. BUY IT.
  • You've done it again.

Their title album is my favorite and they're mix of cheery, to-the-point tracks and the slow ones make for another smash hit.

i heard Nightmare of You a few months back on the radio and i immediately fell in love with this band. Their style is different, the singers voice has range especially at the perfect high notes, and the topics vary. I adore almost every song that they have made in their rather short career and i can not wait to hear their next full length album.

Title track "Bang" is the song my friends and I play when we're in the car going somewhere exciting. It's exquisitely catchy, along with the three tracks before it. But I really don't care for Herbal Jazz Cigarette....still, this shiny little gem is well worth owning. You get some really fun, sometimes upbeatedly tortured songs.
  • Awesome.

This album is great, I just wish it had more songs! But oh well, it is amazing anyway. I love the beat of the new songs, and how they differ a little bit from their last album. If this is your first NoY album, be sure to get their last one too, it is just as amazing.

Nightmare of You's first full-length CD was a great album in itself, but BANG took it to a whole new level of greatness. "I Don't Want to Dance Anymore" sets the perfect tone for the EP, starting with Brandon Reilly's signature pterodactyl scream. "I Was Never a Normal Boy", a song about lonliness and finding your niche in life, shows a great, sort of vulnerable side to the band. "You're Very Dear to Me", to me, is the weak point of the EP, but is still a unique song in itself. "Bang" is full of energy, and really makes one want to jump around. "Herbal Jazz Cigarette", a true-blue love song, is the high-point of the EP, and just may be one of the most well-written songs of the year, with its dramatically simple drum beat and masterful guitar. Long story short: BANG is excellent, and is a shame that it is only 5 songs.
  • A beautiful addition to my music collection!
