Madame, Madame!

So this is a dance album, but don't expect monotonous beats and mindless, sugary words. Swedish solo artist Firefox AK has crafted something sincere, dark but not in a depressing way, and thoughtful but in no way passive. "Madame, Madame!" is a unique mixture of electric guitar rhythms and synthetic blips, squelches, and clanks topped off with Firefox AK's lovely voice. Ranging from sweet to detached to downright resentful, the lyrics guide the listener through real emotional journeys. This is dancefloor fare for the intelligent listener.

A friend recommended this album to me and now I listen to it all the time! It's fun and upbeat, and it's easy to hear the Cat Power and The Knife influences. I heard she toured with Junior Boys- wish I had seen that!!
